Amymarie graduated from Western Illinois University in December of 2001 with a degree in Special Education serving Learning Disabilities and Behavior Disorders pre K to 21, a K-9 Regular Education certificate, a Middle School endorsement for Language Arts and Social Studies, and a High School endorsement for Sociology.

She began her teaching career as an Instructional Aide at Sherrard Elementary (94-99). After graduating, she taught at Eagle Ridge School (02-04), Galva High School (04-05), and QCCS(05-present).

Along with teaching, she helps her husband with his trucking business and does many other activities. She has 3 children: Breana Burgmeier(24), J.Matthew(18) and Dylan(16). She also hosts two foreign exchange students. She and her family attends the First Church of the Nazarene in Rock Island, IL.
